Adventures in Vancouver (Day I)

We didn't take Josh with us the night of the testimony meeting so we had to go and pick him up this morning at the hotel that the missionaries were put up in last night. Once we got him we were trying to decide what it is we wanted to and we eventually decided we wanted to go and visit Stanley Park. This park is large and right outside of Vancouver and on the same island as Vancouver. This park is the same as like a Butchart Gardens but mostly is a collection of trees and is kind of like Central Park in New York, except for with totem poles.
After we stopped by Stanley Park for an hour we decided we might want to try the Capilano Suspension Bridge. We got there and decided that we might not want to try it. So we went to Chinatown for lunch. After a very interesting lunch that involved some sort of strange, unidentifiable sausage we walked through Chinatown and decided that we really wanted to try Capilano. We drove back up and paid the extravagant entry fee of $30ish per person. We walked in and started across. We did not fall in or over the side, but Jen did not have the greatest of fun crossing. There were some Japanese teenagers in front of us and the boys thought it would be great idea to shake the bridge and scare the girls. This freaked Jen out pretty good. She kept yelling at me to cut it out even though I was just standing there perfectly still. We eventually made it across and Jen realized that she had to cross the bridge again to get back. She was not too thrilled about that idea. Capilano has expanded greatly since I was last there and it was a great park, but we eventually decided that we had had enough and crossed again. This time it went a lot better and Jen was a little bit less freaked about the whole thing.

Jen I totally feel your pain about the bridge. My family laughed at me the whole time I tried to cross.
